The Hotel Uyan is a boutique hotel, located in
Istanbul's old town, within 100 meters of the Topkapi Palace,
Blue Mosque and the Marmara Sea. The 27 air conditioned guest
rooms, over four floors, are decorated in a modern Turkish style.
All include complimentary wireless Internet access, direct dial
telephones, satellite televisions, mini bars and goose down
pillows.
Originally built in 1928, the building was converted into a
boutique hotel in 1992, and retains its original wrought iron
balconies and wooden doors. The friendly 24 hour front desk staff
can help to book local sightseeing tours, and direct guests to
areas of interest. Guests relax with drinks on the terrace with
its panoramic views, or in the bar, order snacks from room
service and can also make use of the free wireless Internet
access in public areas. There are also baby sitting services
available. The hotel is in an excellent position for exploring
Istanbul and the surrounding areas, the magnificent Blue Mosque
is 75 meters away and Sultanahmet Square is just 50 meters from
the hotel. Istanbul Ataturk Airport is located 20 kilometers
distant from the hotel, a 30 Minute drive.

The easiest way to get to the hotel is by taxi.
The shuttle bus also runs from the airport to the Aksaray
district, where a taxi can be taken to the hotel, or a tram runs
from Aksaray to Sultanahmet. City and private buses run services
in Istanbul. The suburban train network is old but inexpensive
and reliable. Istanbul's metro is under construction, though some
lines are already in service; it's inexpensive, with frequent
services. There are also several tram lines. Istanbul has a large
fleet of yellow taxis, but a cheaper way of getting around the
streets is to hire a dolmus shared taxi or minibus. Catamarans
and ferries are a cheap, fun way to get around
